Jackie “Jack” Gene Maxwell, age 86, peacefully passed away on April 2, 2026.
Jack was a longtime resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, where he built a life rooted in hard work, family, and simple joys. He took pride in working with his hands and had a lifelong fascination with trains, tractors, and trucks.
He was known for being funny, stubborn in the best of ways, and incredibly generous with both his time and his stories. Jack never met a stranger and always had a story to tell, often leaving those around him laughing or shaking their heads with a smile.
He will be especially remembered by his family for the time they spent together, including summers and road trips that created countless lasting memories. Those stories and moments will continue to live on through the family who loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Abanita “Abby” Maxwell; his daughter, Paula Maxwell; his grandchildren, Jennifer Sutton and Jesse Monson; his great-grandchildren, Samantha Redus, Kylie Patch, and Sydney Sutton; and his great-great-grandchildren, Theodore Redus and Ava Patch.
Public visitation will be 9:00 a.m., to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026, continuing through service time with family gathering to greet friends and family between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2026, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Sparks, Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church, Bethel Acres, Oklahoma officiating. Burial to follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
