Jack William Sliger, Jr., 62, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 in Shawnee.
He was born September 29, 1957 to Jack William Sliger, Sr. and Ruby (Stringfellow) Sliger in Dos Palos, California.
Jack was raised in California, Alabama and Arizona. He lived his adult life in Texas and Oklahoma and has been a resident of Tecumseh for the past 40 years.
He married Nancy Ann Tibbs on July 4, 1999 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma on the Gazebo he built.
Jack owned and operated Ace Tractor Service and Ace Pest Control. He worked at the Water Treatment Plant for City of Tecumseh, as a Police Officer for the City of Maud and City of Depew and as a Deputy for Pottawatomie County.
Jack enjoyed writing poetry and had a book of poems published. He loved going hunting in Southeastern Oklahoma with Leroy and enjoyed deer hunting and squirrel hunting. Jack was an avid gun collector and was very knowledgeable on guns and their history. He loved being in the woods, loved animals of all kinds and had his wildlife breeder’s license.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruby Sliger; his grandparents; and one son.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Nancy Ann Sliger of the home; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharon and Dennis Cotton; 5 children; 21 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild and 1 on the way; 10 siblings; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2020 and continue through service time at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 31, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ray Idell and Kenneth Willoughby officiating.
