Herman Wahpekeche, Jr.

Herman Wahpekeche Jr., better known as “Jr”, passed away and joined the Creator July 4th, 2025 at the age of 50. 

Jr was born on January 2nd, 1975. He will be remembered as a good man, loving son, uncle, friend — and even better as a father.

He is survived by his son Evan, his parents Herman Sr. and Meredith, his sister Margo and her husband James, his brother Thomas, nephews Dacoda, Ozmond and Jarren, niece Madyson and many, many more.

He was a successful man in all facets of life from his career of over 20 years, to hunting and making people laugh. He was intentional in his traditional ways, honoring the Creator.

His journey back starts Saturday, July 5th at his mother’s house at 17900 E Tecumseh Road (Newalla, OK).

Tribal Rites will be held Saturday evening, July 5,2025 at the Wahpekeche family home at 17900 E. Tecumseh Road, Newalla, OK.  Burial will follow Sunday morning, July 6, 2025 at the Wahpekeche Family Cemetery in Newalla, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
