Harold G. Thomas, 93, of Warr Acres, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at his home.
He was born October 27, 1927 in Macomb, Oklahoma to Will and Callie (Glover) Thomas.
Harold grew up in Earlsboro and the Macomb area on a farm. He graduated from Earlsboro High School as President of the class of 1946.
He lived in Shawnee, Tecumseh, Tulsa, Virginia and Texas and in 1969 he settled in Warr Acres where he resided until his passing.
Harold married Jean Yvonne Guilliams on February 3, 1950 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death.
Harold proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1947 active duty. He played basketball for guys returning.
He worked as an Aeronautical Engineer for Wall Colomony from 1969 until he retired. After retirement he enjoyed reading a book a day, drinking coffee and spending time with his family. Harold was kind of ornery and was always supportive of his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Yvonne Thomas; grandsons, Ben Lauderdale and Dan Bourne; his parents, Will and Callie Thomas; brother, Garland Thomas; and sister, Alene Jackson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Tom and Gretchen Thomas of San Antonio, TX and Tim Thomas of Choctaw, OK; 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Phyllis and Mike Shepard of Choctaw, OK and Patty and Doug Heath of Wayne, OK; 6 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Mozelle Guilliams of Edmond, OK; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2021 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stephanie Stephens, Broadway United Methodist Church in Tecumseh, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
