Harold Crenshaw Obituary

Harold Lee Crenshaw, 92, was born March 6, 1927 in Ripley, OK, to Flarence and Lona Mae Crenshaw. He passed peacefully away at his home in Tecumseh on April 8, 2019.  

Harold was raised in Perkins, OK, after the death of one of his brother’s in WWII and before graduating from High School; he joined the Navy and served as a Pharmacist’s Mate during WWII. 

Upon his return he went to Oklahoma A&M/OSU and received his BS in Industrial Arts.

He met and married the love of his life, Bonnie Tyler on June 29, 1948 in Drumright, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on May 5, 2014.

In November 1950 the Navy reenlisted him into service during the Korean War as a Hospital Corpsman. He then changed his career path and became a Registered Professional Engineer.

In 1983 he retired as an Assistant Urban Design Engineer from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. A couple years later he opened up Roadway Design and Engineering Company in Tecumseh. 

Harold was an avid gardener, sportsman, camper and colorful story teller. He resided in Tecumseh for the last 43 years. Besides his devoted and loving wife Bonnie, “And his Garden”, the joy of his heart and life was his Grand and Great Grandchildren. He always looked forward to the family get togethers.

He was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie; son, Mark Crenshaw; grandson, Nick Brantley; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his 2 daughters, Judy Hickman and husband Jacky and Vickie Brantley and husband Joe, all of Yukon, OK; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Don Crenshaw, Olathe, KS; 1 sister, Shirley Logue, Arkansas City, KS; along with special friend and neighbor Gary and Joy Carter; other extended family and friends; and last, but not least, the Hollis Hunting Gang.

The family also wishes to thank Angelic Family Hospice for their care and support.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2019 and 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2019. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home. Casket will remain closed at the church. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2019 at Tecumseh First Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Henson, Yukon Church and Reverend Tony Peak, Tecumseh First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Yukon Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
