Gladys Anderson Obituary

Gladys Anderson, 97, of Asher, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 in Yukon, Oklahoma.

She was born April 25, 1924 to Louie and Elsie Jolley in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Gladys grew up in Pottawatomie County and most of her lifetime in Asher.  She attended school in Tarter, Oklahoma District – 85.

She married Floyd Melton Anderson on August 10, 1942 in Konawa, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death on June 10, 2008.

Gladys was a devout Christian woman and member of Asher First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher.

She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  Gladys was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sewing for her family and others.  She was also an excellent cook and loved cooking for family reunions and holiday feasts; especially her yeast rolls and desserts.   Gladys enjoyed playing Skip-Bo and loved to sit on the back porch enjoying her flowers and watching the birds.  She was always willing to help with family, kids and church.

Gladys desired to live at her home as long as she could.  The family is thankful for the caregivers at the farm that helped her accomplish this goal.  They especially appreciate the relationship she had with Freda Inman and the many ways Freda provided care in her later years.

The family is also thankful for the care provided by Spanish Cove and Tradition Hospice at the end of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Anderson; parents, Louie and Elsie Jolley; 3 sisters and 8 brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Fleisha and Ray Keesee of Yukon, OK; 3 grandchildren, Cathy Childers and Alan of Yukon, OK, Ray Keesee Jr. and Mardi of Yukon, OK and Cori McAlpin and Randal of Oklahoma City, OK; 8 great-grandchildren, Chris Keesee and Mychal, Dustin Keesee and Amanda, Dalton Childers and Brittany, Carly Childers, Hayden McAlpin, Brooks Keesee and Hayleigh, Zach McAlpin and Megan McAlpin; 6 great great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
