Frances Washburn, 89 of Shawnee, Oklahoma entered the gates of Heaven on June 20, 2026.
She was born on January 31, 1937, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Eugene Carlton Sr. and Emma lean (London) Carleton.
Frances was a 1955 graduate of Shawnee High school. She started her career as a nurse at Mission Hill Hospital in Shawnee, then helped her husband run the family service station for over 40 years. She also helped on the family farm.
She was dearly loved by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Loren and son Terry. Her brother, Gene Carleton, her in-laws Lee and Ora Washburn, Walter Washburn, Charlie Washburn, Bill Washburn, Darrell Washburn and Bernice Young.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons and daughters in law, Daniel and Nancy Washburn of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Tim and Tonya Washburn of Edmond, Oklahoma. Grandchildren Andrea and Deke Chandler, Kelsey and Andrew Snider, Justin and Makayla Washburn, Karley and Phil Halpern, Nick and Chelsea Washburn and Jared Champlin. Great grandchildren, Keira and Isabelle Chandler, Camdyn and Graham Snider, Myers Halpren, Lauren Washburn, River Washburn, Solene Washburn and Quinn and Lila Sutton. Sisters in law, Diana Carleton and Janeen Washburn. Brothers in law, Eldon Washburn and Orval and Joyce Washburn and numerous nieces and nephews and other extended friends and family.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel, Tecumseh, Oklahoma with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to greet friends and loved ones. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 25, 2026, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Sparks, Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church, Bethel Acres, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee Oklahoma, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
