Eddie Carr, age 70, longtime resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
He was born November 30, 1954 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to J. C. and Leola (Sanders) Carr. He grew up in Earlsboro and graduated from Earlsboro High School.
On July 14, 1995 he married the love of his life Velma Jean (Rivers) Carr.
Eddie worked for many years as a mechanic. He was an entrepreneur and owned and operated a salvage yard, and his catering business. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was well known for his cooking. He was a good friend to many and was always willing to help others.
He is preceded in death by, his parents; his wife, Velma Jean Carr; his brothers, Don Carr, J.C. Carr; and his sister, Frances Jean Hearn.
Those left to cherish his memory; daughter, Tenassa Carr; son, Robert Ervin; and son, Arsenio Carr; grandchildren, Isaac Ervin and Brayden Nelson; sisters, Lois Nubine, and Wanda Johnson; brothers, Charles Carr, and Melvin Carr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2024 and continue through service time. Service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Sharon Baptist Church, with officiating. Burial will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
