Dolores June (Carpenter) Anson Obituary

Dolores June (Carpenter) Anson, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 6, 2023 after a long battle with dementia.

She was born to Ruth (Thompson) and Cliff Carpenter on June 21, 1937 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

She proudly attended Tecumseh Public Schools, especially enjoying Barnard, and graduated in 1955.

She was briefly married to Patt Anson and had a daughter, Adoris, who became her whole world.

She moved to Oakdale, California in 1962 and lived there until 1972.  Doe worked as Justice Court Clerk for the Stanislaus County Oakdale-Waterford Judicial District while there.  She also worked for  GAB Robins North America, Inc., as Branch Secretary in both Shawnee and Oklahoma City and later as a Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster for GAB and Mega Life & Health Insurance Company.

Doe’s life revolved around her family.  She was the “fun mom” while Adoris was growing up, a favorite aunt, and her most treasured title was “Grandma Doe”.  She was “Grandma Doe” to not only her grandkids but to their friends and countless other people.  Her favorite past time was watching her grandkids, Kyle and Katie, at whatever event they were involved in at the time.  It didn’t matter what sport or activity it was, just that one of them was in it.  She was always the loudest fan there.

Doe was saved at Romulus Baptist Church and most recently was a member of First Baptist Church of Tecumseh.  Her relationship with Jesus is what makes joy override sadness in her passing.

Doe was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Arlene Carpenter of Oakdale, California; Wayne and Jean Carpenter of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; and 1 sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Charley Johnson of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and nephew, Mark Johnson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Adoris and Gary Craig; her grandson, Kyle Craig, along with his wife, Lauren, and their son, Carter; her granddaughter, Katie Craig Goodson, along with her daughter, Reagan; by special nieces and nephews; Linda and Bill Welch of Modesto, California; Steve and Lana Carpenter of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; Russ and Shelly Carpenter of California; Mike and Judy Peters of Shawnee, Oklahoma; Michelle Pecore of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; and Susan Crow of Shawnee, Oklahoma along with other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2023 with family gathering from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to greet family and friends.  Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 10, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Clint Bryant, First Baptist Church, Tecumseh, Oklahoma, officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
