Clarence Gibson Obituary

Clarence Gibson, 76, of Noble, Oklahoma passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, October 19, 2023 after a short stay on hospice.

He was born on January 19, 1947 in Little Axe, Oklahoma to Charley and Bessie Gibson.

Clarence was a proud Vietnam Veteran proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge.

He was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe. Clarence enjoyed OU Sooner Football, OU Women’s Basketball and OU Sooner Softball.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Bessie Gibson; sister, Martha Gibson and Loretta Gibson; and son, Charles Gibson.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki Gibson; daughter, Martha Gibson; sister, Bernice Gibson; brother Walter Gibson; and other extended family and friends.

Tribal Rites will be held Monday evening, October 23, 2023 at Absentee Shawnee Tribe Community Center in Little Axe with Glenn Mann officiating. Burial will be Tuesday morning, October 24, at the Gibson Family Cemetery in Little Axe, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
