Clara May (Aldrich) DeLong, 89, passed from this life Saturday, May 11, 2024 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
She was born on April 21, 1935 in Lookout, Oklahoma to James (Jim) and Mildred (Bliss) Aldrich.
She attended grade school in Edith and Lookout rural schools and high school in Freedom, Oklahoma.
On November 14, 1952 she married the love of her life, John DeLong in Freedom, Oklahoma. They traveled extensively throughout the first few years of marriage, living in Kansas, Nebraska, Texas, Delaware, Kentucky, and New Mexico before settling in Tecumseh in 1958. They had three children and worked together to establish J.D.'s Service Station and Motel before retiring in 1985.
Clara was a faithful member of the Full Gospel Church and later Countryside Pentecostal Church in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents Jim and Mildred Aldrich, 3 brothers Arthur Aldrich, Billy Aldrich and Robert "Bob" Aldrich and 1 great-granddaughter, Ashley Annanders, 1 great-grandson, Robert L. Annanders II and another great-grandson.
She is survived by 3 children, Betty Trammell and her husband, Lonnie of Tecumseh, Wanda Williams of Shawnee, and Johnny DeLong of Tecumseh; 5 grandchildren, Robert Annanders and his wife, Barbara, of Macomb, Lawanda Clark and her husband Carl Wayne of Eufaula, Jeremy Annanders and his wife, Carloyn, of Shawnee, Treva Lichty and her husband, Daniel, of Tecumseh, and Ellen Hogue and her husband, Michael, of Tecumseh; 13 great-grandchildren, Elijah Lichty, Hannah Lichty, Jason Hogue, Ryley Hogue, Errick Annanders and his wife, Terri Sue, Jade Annanders and George, Matthew Clark and wife Alissa, Nicholas Clark, Stormy Annanders, Kristen Annanders, Billy McCook, Mitchell McCook, and Terry Wayne and his wife, Tabby; 5 great-great grandchildren, Kylie Sue, John Wayne, Athena, Onyx and William.
Visitation will be 9:00 am to 8:00 pm Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Cooper Funeral Home with family gathering from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Service will be 10:00 am Friday May 17, 2024 at the Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dennis Stone officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
