Charles Calvan Cowan, 90, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, integrity, and devotion to family. Born on August 20, 1935, in Earlsboro, Charles was a true son of Oklahoma, who remained rooted in the community he loved throughout his life.
A graduate of Earlsboro High School, Charles dedicated 70 years to the construction industry, where he mastered multiple trades and earned a reputation as a skilled craftsman. His work ethic was unmatched, and his word was his bond. Those who knew him respected his honesty and admired his commitment to doing things right.
Above all, Charles was a devoted family man. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved wife, Josefina, affectionately known as his "Pepper." Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and companionship.
Charles is survived by his cherished wife, Josefina; daughters Claudia, Patricia, Janelle, Gwen, Margaret, and Melody; sons Richard, Charles, and Eric; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought him immense pride and happiness.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everette Cowan; his mother, Elizabeth Cowan; and his brother, Wentz Cowan.
Services celebrating Calvan's life will be held at 2:00 PM. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel, Tecumseh, Oklahoma with Pastor Clint Dawkins, of Sharon Baptist Church, Tecumseh, Officiating. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Shawnee, Oklahoma Under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Cowan's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
