Cecil Laurence Hillerman, 96, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 25, 2022.

He was born in Sacred Heart on January 11, 1926 to Benedict and Josephine (Richards) Hillerman.

Cecil attended St. Mary’s Academy in Sacred Heart, and last 2 years at Konawa High School graduating in 1944.  He then entered the Army Air Corps, later dubbed the U.S. Air Force.  After the war, he returned home and went to East Central University for 2 years, then to jeweler’s school in Peoria, Illinois.  He worked for O’Neal’s Jewelers in Ada and Oklahoma City before going to work for B.C. Clark Jewelers in 1951.  Upon opening the Mayfair store in 1957, he was made manager, that store later moved to Penn Square.  He worked for B.C. Clark’s for 58 years making many friends, lasting memories and faithful customers.

Cecil married Nelda Coffey on November 7, 1950 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Harrah, Oklahoma.

Cecil was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church.  He was also a founding member of the Mayfair Kiwanis Club.  He was very active working/coordinating Bean Suppers, Pancake Days and volunteered at the Special Olympics for many years.

Dad was a man of faith, family and strong work ethic.  He loved spending time working on his ranch (often times causing more harm than good), raising cattle, competing on his cutting horses and road trips.  He had a genuine zeal for life and lived life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Larry Hillerman; daughter, Cecilia Grubbs; 3 brothers, Bill, Leo and Robert Hillerman; 3 sisters, Cecilia and Lorena Hillerman and Patsy Philpott.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Randy Humphrey; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Della Hillerman all of Tecumseh, OK; 11 grandchildren, Cody and Ashley Humphrey, Kirby and Bethany Humphrey, Kasey and Derek Dean, Bailey and Scott Hill, Misty Ledbetter, Christy Washburn, Ashley Brown, Ray Larsen, Ronnie Larsen, Richard Larsen and CJ Hansen; numerous great-grandchildren; 2 brothers-in-law, Bob Coffey of Fredonia, AZ and Bill Barr of Midwest City, OK; and many loving friends and extended family.
