On November 16, 2023, Carol “Sue” Rooker, age 83, departed this world to be healthy and whole in eternity.
She was born September 14, 1940, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Herman and Sarah (Canada) Gentry. She was raised as a Farm Girl and spent her life proud to maintain that title. She attended Dale Schools all 12 years and graduated with many lifelong friends in 1958.
Sue married her high school sweetheart Gerald “Pete” Rooker on September 22, 1958, in the Dale Methodist Church where they recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Sue’s life was characterized by caring for and loving family and others. She was a selfless and dedicated wife, mother, and Meme. She treasured her time with her grandsons and loved being their Meme; spending countless hours together on the farm every Friday throughout their childhoods.
Sue poured love into her precious Dale Community by sharing her passion for music by teaching numerous students the love of piano with lessons given in her home most of her life; playing the piano and organ at Dale Methodist Church for 68 years; serving as the Dale Elementary School secretary for 25 years; and attending as many Dale Pirate sporting events (especially basketball) as possible as a proud alumnus. Everyone that knew her would tell you that she was one of the sweetest people they have known.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Sarah Gentry; and brother Robert Gentry.
Sue is survived by her husband Pete Rooker of Dale; two daughters, Brenda Rooker of Dale and Sherry (Rooker) Cramer and “Favorite Son-In-Law” Harry Cramer of Edmond; Kyle Cramer and wife Remy of Loveland, CO and Braden Cramer of Edmond, OK.
