Carl O'Donnell

Carl O’Donnell, 83, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021 at his home. 

He was born March 13, 1938 to J.P. “Pat” and Edra (Owens) O’Donnell in Vinco, Oklahoma. 

Carl lived most of his adult life in Shawnee. 

He graduated with the class of 1956 from Stillwater High School. 

He married Louise Gill on January 17, 1960 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.  She preceded him in death on January 9, 2012. 

Carl proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Boston and played baseball for the U.S. Navy.  He was honorably discharged on March 18, 1962. 

Carl spent 36 plus years as the Maintenance Supervisor for Tecumseh Public Schools spanning from October 16, 1984 until his passing.  

Carl loved his family with his whole heart.  We will miss his jokes, phone calls (click), laughs and most lovingly his stained white t-shirts and hope it’s not genetic. He will be sorely missed. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise O’Donnell; parents, Pat and Edra O’Donnell; sister, Mildred Seeliger; and 2 brothers, Carmon O’Donnell and Pat O’Donnell. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his 2 daughters, Sandra O’Donnell of Shawnee and Mary Ann O’Donnell of Oklahoma City; fiancé, Janice Kilgore of the home; granddaughters, Jessica and Anthony Hamilton, Kellie and Ian Andress, Karen Schones and Katy Schones; great-granddaughters, Niah Andress and Norah Andress; great-grandsons, Trevon Phillips and Marcus Hamilton; great great-grandson, Elijah Phillips; brother, Gary O’Donnell of Stillwater; and many loving friends and extended family. 

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home.  Service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at Tecumseh Alumni Building with brother-in-law, Jeff Gill, Northside Christian Church, Broken Arrow, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
