Bucky Little Charley, 68, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 after a long battle with kidney disease and heart failure.
Bucky was born on November 19, 1951 to Howard and Lola (Little Axe) Little Charley in Norman, Oklahoma.
He worked for the City of Norman in the Sewer Line Maintenance Department for 30 years before retiring; and also worked for the Absentee Shawnee Tribe for 7 years in Maintenance before retiring.
He loved softball and coached little league for many years. He loved watching OU Football, softball, watching westerns, Ellen, and the Voice. He was very traditional in his Absentee Shawnee culture, and was the War Chief of the tribe. He loved his wife, his daughters, and grandchildren. He knew no strangers, everyone that met him was his friend, and his smile would brighten the room.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Lola Little Charley; 3 sisters, Dorothy Rupe, Marie Gibson and Linda Sue Little Charley; 2 brothers, Robert Spoon and Wesley Little Charley.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Little Charley of Norman; 3 daughters, Melinda Ferrell and husband Jeffrey of Norman, Rebecca Davis and husband Darrol of Norman and Paige Little Charley and partner William Murdock of Shawnee; 7 grandchildren, Alyssa Ferrell, Dakota Little Charley-Davis, Hunter Little Charley-Davis, William Little Charley-Davis, Ethan Ferrell, Makaiah Baker and Bishop Murdock; sister, Betty Doussett of Norman; brother, Virgil Little Charley of Norman; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sunny Stewart officiating. Tribal Rights will at Brendle Corner, Saturday evening. Burial will Sunday morning at the Little Charley Family Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
