Bobby Leon "Bob" Wilson Obituary

Bobby Leon “Bob” Wilson, age 82, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life Wednesday, May 21, 2025 in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Bob was born April 17, 1943 in Walters, Oklahoma the son of Arthur and Maudie Mae “Sis” (Davis) Wilson.

Bob grew up in Walters and attended Walters Public Schools.  He was a 1961 graduate of Walters High School.  After high school he attended Cameron Jr. College in Lawton and graduated in 1963.  In 1965 he earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts from Central State College in Edmond.

He married Carol Ann Fincher on August 22, 1964 in Walters, Oklahoma.  After their marriage Bob and Carol both taught school in Nebraska for several years until Bob was drafted into the military during the Vietnam War.  Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970.  He received the Outstanding Leadership award while in AIT at Ft. Benning, GA.  He served his tour of duty in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970 as Staff Sargent with the 82nd Airborne and 199th Light Infantry.  Bob received the Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Air Medal and Infantry Badge. He was honorably discharged in 1970.

Upon Bob’s return from service, he and Carol started a family and became the proud parents of two sons, Todd Michael in 1972 and Mark William in 1975.  They lived in Oklahoma City and Duncan before settling in Tecumseh in 1972.

Bob worked for Locke Supply from 1970 until his retirement at the end of 2010.

He was a member of the Tecumseh Jaycees and served on the Tecumseh Housing Authority.

Bob became a Christian as a young boy and attended the Home Church in Tecumseh.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He never missed Thursday morning breakfast with his veteran buddies, followed by exciting trips to the casino. Known for slipping scratch-off tickets into everyone’s stocking at Christmas, he brings a little fun and a lot of heart to every gathering. A proud fan of Sooner softball and football, and a loyal supporter of Walters Blue Devils, Tecumseh Savages, and Edmond North Huskies - he’s always cheering from the sidelines—or the living room.

When he’s not on the phone catching up with friends, you’ll find him making memories with his grandkids—whether it’s trips to the arcade, working on puzzles together, or sharing laughs over banana splits. He’s got a love for classic cars, a good day of fishing, and the joy of the simple things in life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol of nearly 50 years on July 2, 2014; his father in 1990; his mother in 2012; 3 brothers, George Wilson, Don Wilson and Hop Wilson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Todd and Cheryl Wilson of Tecumseh, OK and Mark and Fawne Wilson of Edmond, OK; 6 grandchildren, Maggie Rae Wilson, Colby Wilson, Kaelyn Hild, Cole Hild, Avaree Wilson and Avionn Wilson; and other loving extended family and friends.

The family has designated Home Church, 2401 East Walnut Street, Tecumseh, OK 74873 as appropriate for memorials.
