Bobby Lee Napoleon Obituary

Bobby Lee Napoleon, 75, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed from this life Monday, June 27, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. 

He was born August 22, 1946 to Fred and Velma (Talley) Napoleon in Seminole, Oklahoma. 

Bobby was raised in the Pleasant Grove community where he attended school and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School.  He earned his Associate’s Degree from Seminole Junior College in Criminal Justice.  Bobby has lived in the South Rock Creek area the last 52 years. 

He married Kaye L. Young on December 23, 1967 at St. John Baptist Church in Brooksville, Oklahoma. 

Bobby proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a motor transport operator.  After the service he joined the U.S. Army Reserves and served as a Drill Sergeant until his retirement from the military.  After returning from the military he settled in Shawnee and worked for the U.S. Post Office, drove long haul trucks, and later worked at COJAC where he retired after 26 years of service. He also worked at TDK until he retired completely from the work force in 2006.  In 2015 he joined the staff at Cooper Funeral Home where he was currently employed. 

He was a devoted and faithful member of St. John Baptist Church in Brooksville where he served as a deacon.  Bobby enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Bobby was a true patriot who will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved him.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Velma Napoleon; daughter and son-in-law, Serreta and Bryce O’Guinn; 4 sisters, Letha Rivers, Eudell Young, Wyomia Reed and Ernestine Gordon; and 5 brothers, Leon Napoleon, Willie Napoleon, Fred Napoleon, Alvin Napoleon and John Napoleon. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 54 ½ years, Kaye Napoleon of the home; son, Robert Anthony “Tony” Napoleon of Shawnee, OK; 5 grandsons, Diontre O’Guinn, Anthony O’Guinn, Nick Napoleon, Braden Napoleon and Josh Napoleon; 4 great-grandsons, Kameron Napoleon, Moxon Napoleon, Kyrie O’Guinn and Jaggar Napoleon; 3 sisters, Helen Hall, Oklahoma City, OK, Hazel Keesee of Tecumseh, OK and Debra Teal of Shawnee, OK; 2 brothers, Spencer Napoleon of Madera, CA and Theodore Napoleon of San Jose, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members and loving friends. 

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2022 and continue through service time.  Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Vincent Roland, St. John Baptist Church, Brooksville, OK, Reverend Willie Guient, Reverend Clint Dawkins, Sharon Baptist Church, Tecumseh, OK and Reverend Charles Carthen, St. John Baptist Church, Brooksville, OK officiating.
