Bobby Herschell Churchwell, age 62, of Dale, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2024 in Yukon, Oklahoma.
He was born March 23, 1961 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Bobby and Gaylene (Whitley) Churchwell.
Bobby was raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from Douglas High School with the class of 1979.
After high school Bobby worked in the oilfield before he started truck driving. He delivered Firestone products to different racing events for B&T racing. In 1990 he started his almost 34 year career at Hobby Lobby where he was currently working as a senior driver with co-driver, Jeff Farrar, for the past 8 years.
Bobby married the love of his life, Ranay Chrz on September 17, 1988 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Bobby loved racing, Branson trips, mowing, taking cruises, watching basketball and softball games, umpiring and music. He loved the 28 years he volunteered at the International Finals Youth Rodeo in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Bobby attended Tenkiller Jamboree and cherished his time playing cards with his family and being at home on the weekends with the grandkids, who considered him their hero.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Ranay Churchwell of the home; sons, Bobby Joe “Bo” and Ashley Churchwell of Dale, OK and James Jeffery Bruce “JJ” and Shelby Churchwell of Dale, OK; sister, Marcia and Rex Dockray of Mustang, OK; 5 grandchildren, Breonna, Allie, Billy, Maverick and Aaron; and many extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2024 with family gathering from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to greet friends and family at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Sharon Baptist Church, Tecumseh, OK with Reverend David Scott Peters and Brent Cox officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
