Bill Rodgers Obituary

Billy Lynn “Bill” Rodgers, 87, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021.

Born on April 4, 1934 in Wanette, OK to Evelyn Belle and Cecil Rodgers. Married Alta Sue Martin Rodgers on January 17, 1953.

Preceded in death by: beloved wife of 66 years, Sue Rodgers; sister, Patricia Rodgers Varnado and brothers, Don Rodgers and Jon Rodgers.

Survived by: daughters, Sue Ann Rodgers of Oklahoma City and Robin Rodgers Gladstein (Mark) of Houston, and son, Kevin Rodgers (Belinda) of Carlsbad, CA. Grandchildren: Mallory Gladstein Spence (Andrew) of Houston, Evan Rodgers of Carlsbad, Michael Gladstein (Megan) of Houston, Zane Rodgers of Carlsbad, and Kirby Gladstein of Los Angeles.

Bill loved cars, planes, golf, OU Sooners, Dallas Cowboys and most of all, his family. His favorite places to visit were the mountains of Colorado and the desert of Tucson.

He was a self-made businessman; he founded Atlas Plumbing and Piping in Ada, and Trade Mechanical Contractors in Oklahoma City.

The family would like to thank the dedicated caregivers who were always there for us. Special thanks to Kay, Gayla, Tandi, and Megan for their love and wise counsel. And also to Danielle, Rose, Liz, Traci, Lilly, “K-2” and Sabrina for their hard work, patience and support. We love you.

The family requests memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice as appropriate for memorials.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Rose Briar Place, 11900 N. Council Road, Oklahoma City, OK  73162 with his son, Kevin Rodgers and family members officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
