Betty Jean (Arms) Young

Betty Jean (Arms) Young, 92, resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022, at her home.

She was born October 27, 1929 to Ezra Arms and Letha (Boettler) Arms in Pearson, Oklahoma.

She was raised in Tecumseh and attended Tecumseh Public Schools.

On June 30, 1950, she married William “Calvin” Young in Fort Townson, Oklahoma. In the early years of their marriage she travelled with her husband from job to job, until they settled in Tecumseh, Oklahoma. Betty became a homemaker, cooking, taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the lake, her emus, and family gatherings.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin Young; brother, Ernie Arms; sister, Juanita Riddle; and niece, Anna Nease.

She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, David and JoAnn Young and Steve and Lynne Young, all of Tecumseh; Grandchildren, Angie and Wade Stuteville of Shawnee, OK, Misty and Shayne Stiles of Tecumseh, OK and Kevin Young and Danielle Coleman of Shawnee, OK; great grandchildren, Masen Stiles, Wyatt Stuteville, Makenzi Stiles, Sawyer Stuteville and Hunter Young; nieces, Tricia Stanford and Lyndsey Little; nephew, Cody Stanford; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
