Betty Sue Simpson

Betty Sue Simpson, age 85, resident of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She was born on March 9, 1940, in Tuskahoma, Oklahoma to Samual and Josie (Payne) Blythe.

Betty was raised and attended school in Asher Oklahoma.

She worked in retail manufacturing as travel agent, with OK Travel. 

Betty always enjoyed talking to everyone, spending time with family, friends and traveling to where her grandchildren were. She loved traveling abroad as well as going on Cruises. She liked to read and do crossword puzzles and enjoyed playing the slot machines at casinos.

Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Lamirand; brother, Doyle Blythe.             

Those left to cherish Betty's memory are her sons, Roy Simpson and Maribel Watschke of California City, CA, Mike Simpson, of Wellington KS, Dathan and Sandy Simpson of San Angelo TX, and Brian and Lorena Simpson of Hermiston OR; Six grandchildren, Rachel and James Smith, Lisa Simpson, DJ and Michael Simpson, Jason Simpson, Joshua and Madi Simpson, Breanna Simpson; Two great grandchildren, Adalynn Smith and Callum Simpson; sister, Geneva Brumley of Norman OK; many loving friends and extended family.

Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. Friday, August 8, 2025, with services being held at 10:00 a.m. at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Reverand Larry Sparks officiating. Services will conclude at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel. Betty will be laid to rest at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
