Barbara Ann Morrow of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away December 19, 2025, after enduring several months of lung and heart issues that mostly kept her bedridden and on oxygen full time until finally succumbing peacefully at approximately 4:00 a.m. and sadly with no family around – or possibly she gave up at that time to spare family anymore hurt than necessary – it would be just like her!
Barb was a blessing with a beautiful smile that could easily melt hearts and quickly make friends. For the last year of her life it seemed that every medical attendant upon first coming in contact with this new patient would look into her beautiful face and shake their heads and look again to their file and shake their heads and say no, no, no, this must be the wrong patient – this lady is not 91 – ok well, many of them did do that and it was always fun to watch.
Barb was very health conscious and up to only a year ago would work out vigorously at the Shawnee YMCA and embarrass younger ladies who couldn’t keep up with her program.
Having cancer herself several years ago she was very involved with the Cancer Society and attended many of their fund-raising events.
Barb was a 31-year employee at the Shawnee Mobil facility as executive secretary to the plant manager – and her tag could almost be – ASK BARB ASK BARB – she said she only had two jobs at Mobil, THIS and THAT – but she enjoyed working there and was very appreciated throughout the company.
After her retirement she and Jack did some traveling and went on a few cruises and she loved living in the country and did some gardening and enjoyed watching wildlife or just sitting and relaxing on the large deck with Jack… BUT, her AH HA moment came when a friend introduced her to the Prairie Moon Primitives and retreats near Wayne, Oklahoma. She was taken in with her new friends and learned the calming effect rug hooking and needle point could provide. She made numerous friends and even traveled with others out of state to meet with hookers (her word).
Barb was blessed with 3 boys: Steve, David, and Todd. With the birth of Todd dashing her last chance for a girl but she quickly decided that having boys was ALRIGHT after all! All three still live in Pottawatomie County easily keeping watch over their mother and especially they had been Godsends during her last health issues.
Barb was a wonderful, kind, loving, sweet person and she will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to know her.
