Barbara Annette Mikish (September 24, 1939 – April 13, 2023)

Barbara Annette Mikish, 83, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed peacefully on Thursday April 13, 2023. 

She was born September 24, 1939 in Shawnee, OK to Earl & Marie Hutton. 

Barbara (Mema) loved her family dearly and would do anything for family and friends. Barbara worked in the dental field for a combined 57 years with Dr. Brown (10 years) and through four generations of the Bowers family dentistry including 45 years with Dr. Brandon Bowers in Shawnee retiring at the age of 79. 

Barbara was a devoted and dedicated member of Rock Creek Baptist Church.  She was actively involved in fellowship and served as fellowship chairman.  She was involved with long range planning, flowers, decorations and benevolence.  Barbara served as caregiver in the nursey for babies from 2007 until 2018.  Barbara loved her Oklahoma Sooners, especially the football, basketball and softball teams and the OKC Thunder Basketball.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Earl & Marie Hutton and brothers Don & Jim Hutton.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband Don Mikish of 59 years. Daughter Tara Williams & Eric of Norman with their daughters Savanna Mays of Georgia, husband Ricky great grandchildren Colton & Colby. Lexi Williams & Blake Sconyers & great grandbaby Brooks. Her Son Todd Mikish & Mary-Anne of Shawnee and their son Cade Mikish, daughters Kylie & Kenzie Mikish.  Her Sister Mina Harms of Texas and many nieces and nephews who are all so special to her.

The family has designated the Shoe Ministry of Rock Creek Baptist Church to provide shoes to children in need as appropriate for memorials in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2023 and continue until time of service.  Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00, Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home.  Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Rock Creek Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK with Pastor Danny Napier officiating.
