Anthony Lynn "Tony" Baldo Obituary

Anthony Lynn “Tony" Baldo, age 71, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, August 13, 2023 at his home in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Tony was born December 16, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to George and Sophie Corene (Dye) Baldo.

Tony spent his early days on Georgia Street living with his Aunt Oletha and Uncle Florin. Tony attended Saint Gregory's for a time after graduating Shawnee high school.

Tony was married and lived close to downtown Shawnee. He and his wife, Camille lived in Moore and then retired to a nice place on Lake Eufaula where they enjoyed spending time at their cabin. After health became a concern, they both moved back to Shawnee.

Tony spent most of his career as a truck driver, driving for Scrivner and Kraft until he retired.

He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church for many years.  He volunteered at the St. Benedict Church food pantry, Knights of Columbus Community Breakfast, and other community events.  Tony was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus Shawnee Council #1018 member.  He was known as the social networker for community events and was also the life of the party.

He is survived by two siblings, Lawrence “Larry” Whitman of Little Rock, AR and Teresa Jackson of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters-in-law, Denise Perella, Michelle Telerico, and Elisa Stanley all of Pittsburg; stepson, Tony Esterline; many nieces, nephews; and other extended family and friends. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 25, 2023 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Shawnee, OK with Very Reverend Christopher Brashears officiating.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
