Ann (Lowery) Woodard Obituary

On Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in Tempe Arizona, Ann Lowery Woodard went to be with our Lord and Savior and was reunited with her husband and other loved ones.

Ann was born in Paden Oklahoma on Sept. 25th, 1941.  Ann lived her minor years in Paden and attended Paden Schools until she graduated in 1959.  Ann was the youngest child of Dave and Pearl (Latta) Lowery.

Ann married Billy Eugene Woodard of Pharaoh, Oklahoma on April 15, 1959 and they were married for 56 years.  Ann and Bill had lived in Shawnee (Bethel Acres) Oklahoma since 1969, after moving from Midwest City.

Ann worked in customer service her entire life.  She loved people and loved being able to help them.  She retired from Humpty Supermarkets after many years as an office manager and checker.  She wasn't ready to retire just yet.  Ann and Bill had started a Greenhouse and Nursery business in Bethel Acres quite a few years before she left Humpty and she ran this business for many more years after.  Her love of flowers was unmatched, as anyone who knew her would attest and could be seen in the oasis surroundings of their yard.  She was also the Co Owner of Wildcat Corner Restaurant for many years.  After closing the restaurant, she went to work for Bethel Public Schools in the cafeteria office, where she was known by the students as the "Lunch Line Lady".  She knew every student by name and acct.# and could recite them from memory.  After Ann left the school cafeteria she worked for other places in the community, Dakota's Store in Bethel and The Garden Center at Shawnee Feeds.

Ann loved her family and spent as much time with them as possible.  She loved basketball and played for Paden Schools and later played in an Adult Women's League in Shawnee.  She loved to watch movies, Country Classics DVD's and music shows.

Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill in 2015, her parents Davie Lowery and Pearl (Latta) Lowery of Paden, her In-Laws Billy and Velma (Kirby) Woodard of Pharaoh, two brothers, one sister, three brother-in-laws and three sister-in-laws.

Ann is survived by her daughter Donell (Woodard) Dickerson of Moss Point, MS; Her son David Woodard of Tempe, AZ.  Four grandchildren Ann Marie and Gary Heimbach of Broken Arrow, OK, Sara and Andreas Martinez of Tucson, AZ, Ryan and Kathryn Richards of Elk City, OK and Dalton Woodard of Mesa, AZ, Six great Grandchildren, Lainee, Tristan, Marley, Railey, Drake and Jake.  One sister Lillian Landrum of Prague, OK,  one sister-in-law Doretha Lowery of Shawnee and one brother-in-law Charles Woodard of Seminole, OK.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2020 at Cooper Funeral Home. Private family services will be held with Reverend Bill Chesser officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
