Alicia L. “Janice” (Harness) McCoy, 85, of Owasso, Oklahoma passed from this life Wednesday, April 16, 2025 in Owasso.
She was born October 31, 1939 to Foster and Ada Evelyn (Beaittie) Harness in Maud, Oklahoma, one of 13 children and one of the first set of triplets born in Maud, OK, which also included two sets of twins.
Janice was raised in Shawnee and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1958.
She married Allen Lee McCoy on November 5, 1989 in Ft. Worth, Texas and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2013.
Janice lived in Shawnee, Oklahoma City, OK, Nichols Hills, OK, Bartlesville, OK and Owasso, OK.
She was a full-time mother of three sons, enjoyed cooking, family time was centered around cooking, and she was known for Special Event Planning. Janice loved the Lord and was looking forward to rejoicing with her Momma & siblings in heaven.
Janice had a genuine love for her family and cherished her sisters, brothers and cousins and especially enjoyed special get togethers with her sisters. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Lee McCoy; parents, Foster and Ada Harness; and brothers and sisters; her triple siblings, Joyce Harness and Jeremiah Harness, sisters, Neldean Harness, Maxine Athen, LaVee Birt, Vontella Fawl, Joyce Harness, and Johnnie Rundle; brothers, Dean Harness, and Foster “Joy Harness.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, James Hillis of Yukon, OK, Scott and Eva Hillis of Cape Girardeau, MO and Stacey and Tammy Hillis of Oologah, OK; 7 grandchildren, Louden Hillis, Drew Hillis, Adam Hillis, Charles Hillis, Kinley Hillis, Skyler and Blayke Storm and Addison and Chace Wilkins; 4 great-grandchildren, Hallie Storm, Ryker Storm, Grayton Wilkins and Goldie Wilkins; brother, Bob Harness of Carthage, TX; and other loving extended family and friends; and her beloved dog, Jewels.
Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Blayke Storm officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
