Wanda Wesley Obituary

Wanda Wesley, 79, of Shawnee, Oklahoma was surrounded by her loved ones when she received her heavenly reward on Saturday December 21, 2019.

She was born April 26, 1940 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Willie and Jessie DeLeon.

Wanda is a lifelong Shawnee Resident and graduated from Shawnee Public Schools in 1958.

She married Jim Wesley on December 26, 1958 in Seminole, Oklahoma.

Jim and Wanda owned Jim’s Septic and Backhoe Service. When they retired they moved to their farm in Bethel.

Wanda was a selfless individual. She was constantly busy and worked tirelessly to ensure her family was taken care of. She fiercely loved and adored her family and friends. Wanda was a generous, caring and compassionate person. If you ever needed to be encouraged or loved on, you could go to Wanda. She enjoyed laughing, working, being with her family, attending church, singing, sewing, and gardening. Wanda was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a mother to many throughout the years. Wanda was a prayer warrior for her family and friends. She spent many nights praying for those she loved. Wanda’s greatest desire was to see her loved ones saved.

She was a faithful member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Shawnee for 26 years. Wanda loved God and her church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother, Christeen Guffey, Linda Wright, Judy Avery and Willie DeLeon.

She is survived by her husband Jim Wesley of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Brent McCutcheon of Tecumseh; 2 sons and daughters-in-law Randy and Kelly Wesley of Shawnee, and Gary and Lisa Wesley of Shawnee; Brother and sister-in-law Don and Connie DeLeon; 5 grandchildren Bobbie Pinkston, Gary Don Wesley Jr., Jeremy McCutcheon, Shelby Wesley and Kimi McCutcheon. Great Grandchildren Hadlee Pinkston, Baylor Pinkston, Gary Don Wesley III, and Brier Pinkston (on the way) and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Special thanks to Wanda’s church family, Calvary Pentecostal Church, for their love and support during her sickness.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 26, 2019 with the family meeting with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home. Services to celebrate Wanda’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2019 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Brent McCutcheon and Reverend Kevin Webster officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, Shawnee under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
