Virginia (Scott) Ward Stover

Virginia (Scott) Ward Stover, 88, former Tecumseh, Oklahoma resident passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Shawnee.

She was born August 30, 1930 to Wesley and Pearl (Reeves) Scott in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Virginia was raised in Macomb and graduated with the class of 1948 from Macomb High School.

She married Jack L. Stover on March 5, 1971 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on February 11, 1993.  

Virginia was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She also worked with her parents in Bodkin Scott Furniture Store. 

Virginia was a member of Romulus Baptist Church and loved studying the Bible.  She loved sewing, gardening, flowers and crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death her husband, Jack L. Stover; son, Gary Don Ward; her parents, Wesley and Pearl Scott; and 1 brother, Leo Scott.

Those left to cherish her memory are 1 son and 1 daughter-in-law, Michael and Sandee Ward of Eufaula, OK; 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Pamela Stover Ward of Shawnee, OK and Gaila and David Green of Shawnee, OK; 4 grandchildren, Crystal DeVere, Jennifer Sanders, Michael Hatler and Ariel Howeth; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2019 and continue through service time.  Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home.  Service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Darrell Witten, Heartland Hospice of Shawnee officiating. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
