Marion Franklin Milburn, Jr., 95, was born November 8, 1923 to Harrisburg, Oklahoma to Marion Franklin Milburn, Sr. and Anita Clark. He was the last of 9 siblings.
Marion died in his home in Tecumseh, Oklahoma on April 18, 2019.
Marion was raised in Duncan, Oklahoma and attended Duncan Public Schools. He graduated with the class of 1943 from Duncan High School. After high school he joined the U.S. Navy during WWII and proudly served his country on the U.S.S. Fulton as a Submarine Tender for 4 years. After his military service he attended Cameron College and graduated from Oklahoma A & M. He received his Bachelor’s degree in 1949 in Agriculture Science. He had a distinguished career in teaching Vo-Ag at Asher, Wellston, Chandler, Drummond and Liberty Mounds, Oklahoma before retiring.
Marion married his first wife, Evelyn Alexander and had three children, Joan, Jane and Fred.
He enjoyed traveling, going to the lake and trips to Branson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Evelyn; daughter, Jane Sitton; son-in-law, Mike Sitton; daughter, Pamela Etchieson; 2 grandsons, Michael Gray and Michael Joe Sitton; and great-granddaughter, Harley Albarado.
Marion is survived by his wife, Linda Milburn of the Tecumseh, OK; daughter, Joan and Joe Albarado of Carencro, LA; son, Fred Milburn of Carencro, LA; daughter, Lisa Gray of Tecumseh, OK, daughter, Dana and Milton Blackburn, Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-law, Katherine Milburn of Oklahoma City, OK. He has 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; 2 great-greatgrandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2019 and from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Newell, Avoca Church of Christ in Asher officiating. Burial will follow at Vista Cemetery in Asher under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
