Jock Parsons, 62, died peacefully surrounded by his family on the evening of December 21st in his Norman, Oklahoma home.
He was born on April 14th, 1957 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Buck and Corinna “Corrine” Parsons.
Jock was one of three brothers, Robby Parsons of Shawnee and Tim Parsons of Tecumseh.
He graduated from Tecumseh High School with the Class of 1976 and retired from General Motors.
A 60-year long resident of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, Jock grew up on the Parsons family farm. He lived there with his wife of 33 years, Tyra (Stewart). During the last few years of his life they lived in Norman, Oklahoma.
Jock loved fishing, and most of his friends and loved ones can probably remember a time they joined him at his pond on the farm. When he wasn’t fishing, other hobbies included playing tennis, ping pong, weight lifting, watching movies with his kids, and watching his grandkids play sports.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Jock is survived by his wife, Tyra Parsons; his five children, Michelle and Thomas Price, Emmanda Potter, Miranda and Jay Kieffer, Blake Parsons, and Brock and Cynthia Parsons; he was also blessed with eleven grandchildren, Raven and Chase McIver, Haven, Tommy, and Landry Price, Isabella and Clara Potter, Jayden and Gabriella Kieffer, and Amelia and Noah Parsons; his father, Buck Parsons; his two brothers, Tim and wife, Sherry and Robby and wife, Debbie; and numerous other family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, aides, family and friends who have traveled this long journey with us, especially our friend, Whitney Harris, who made him smile until the end.
