Jesse "Dick" Tomlinson

Jesse Richard “Dick” Tomlinson, age 77, of Tecumseh, OK passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 in Tecumseh.  

He was born August 23, 1942 to Samuel “Jack” and “Walsie” Wanez (Jordan) Tomlinson in Shawnee, OK.

Dick was a lifelong resident of Tecumseh and a member of The Tecumseh Alumni Association. He graduated from Tecumseh High School with the Class of 1960.

He married Janice Shields on June 1, 1962 in Shawnee.  

Dick started work as a milk delivery person for Gilt Edge. He then started his career as an independent insurance agent, owning and operating his own business for 50 years.

Dick was a man of many talents. Some of those talents were gardening, training bird dogs, refinishing antique guns and calling turkeys. Dick loved hunting, family activities, and sporting activities. Above all else, he loved being with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Glenn Tomlinson; and sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Bruce Hardin.

 Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Jan, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Rhonda Tomlinson of Maud; daughter and son-in-law, Janae and David Gadberry of Canyon, TX; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Jan Tomlinson and Lynn and Virginia Tomlinson, all of Shawnee; 7 grandchildren, Libby and Daniel Tonubbee, Missy and Tyler Goodin, Taylor and Conner Mason, Sydney Gadberry, Derrick Smotherman, Tyler Smotherman and Ryan Smotherman; 8 great grandchildren, Katelyn, Addyson, and Penelope Tonubbee, Brently and Blake Smotherman, Emery and Ky Goodin, and Lynley Mason; numerous other family; and a multitude of friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, November 30, 2019 and 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 1, 2019. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2019 at Dale Cemetery with David Gadberry of Summit Church, Canyon, TX officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
