James Sherrill Obituary

James Sherrill, 86, of Enid, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 in Enid. 

He was born June 4, 1933 to John and Lois (Ritter) Sherrill in Coaldale, Arkansas. 

James was raised in Coaldale, Arkansas.  He lived in Oklahoma City until moving to Blanchard in 1972 until recently moving to Enid. 

He married Wanda Foreman on April 5, 1952 in Forester, Oklahoma.  She preceded in death on October 7, 2016. 

James retired from CMI after more than 20 years of service.  He owned and operated Sherrill’s Small Engine Repair in Blanchard. 

James was a member of Assembly of God.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and woodworking. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Sherrill; parents, John and Lois Sherrill; granddaughter, Deana Patterson; and sister, Johnnie Russell. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Steven Redding of Ringwood, OK; son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Pam Sherrill of Talty, TX; grandchildren, Lydia and husband JR, JoAnna, Becky and Russ; great-grandchildren, Justin and Khalli, R.J. and Marshall; 2 sisters, Laverne Ridenour and Jennie Barnes; and other extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 15, 2019 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 16, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron VanMeter officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
