Edna West, 70, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019 in Shawnee.
She was born January 6, 1949 to James and Nettie (Rayfield) Herron in Earlsboro, Oklahoma.
Edna was raised in Earlsboro and Tecumseh. She was a 1968 graduate of Tecumseh High School.
She worked as cook for Sunset Estates Nursing Home for several years, before becoming a full-time homemaker.
Edna was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was an avid OU Football fan and OKC Thunder fan.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Sue Worthley; parents, James and Nettie Herron; and 3 brothers, Andrew Herron, Lloyd Barnes and Roy Barnes.
Survivors include her daughter, Polly Lorentz of Stillwater, OK; 5 grandsons, Austin Mathew Barnes, J.D. Worthley, Chance West, Derek West and Christopher Andrew Lorentz; 1 sister, Ruby Jewell Tiffany; 3 brothers, Bud Herron, Earl Herron and Eueil “Shorty” Herron; numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2019 and continue through service time. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2019 at Bethel Acres Assembly with Pastor Larry Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
