Donald "Don" Carr

Donald “Don” Carr, 66, lifelong resident of Earlsboro, Oklahoma passed from this life Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at his home. 

He was born August 22, 1952 to J.C. Carr, Sr. and Leola (Sanders) Carr in Shawnee, Oklahoma. 

Don was raised in Earlsboro and graduated with the class of 1970 from Earlsboro High School. 

He married the love of his life, Janice “Kaye” Brown on March 28, 1971 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and she preceded him in death on September 3, 2015. 

Don retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas Company. 

He was a member of Whites Chapel CME and Ware Chapel.  Don loved cooking, going to drag races and car shows, and fixing up old cars; especially his Mach 1 1969 Ford Mustang.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice “Kaye” Carr; his parents, J.C. and Leola Carr; 1 sister, Francis Hern; and 1 brother, J.C. Carr. Jr. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Donna Kaye Carr of Shawnee, OK; son, Bobby Eugene Carr of Earlsboro, OK; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Lois and Willie Nubine of Oklahoma City, OK and Wanda Johnson of Moore, OK; 3 brothers, Charles Carr of Earlsboro, OK, Eddie and Jean Carr of Tecumseh, OK and Melvin Carr of Oklahoma City, OK; 5 sisters-in-law; 3 brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 10, 2019 and continue through service time.  Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Evangelistic Center Church with Reverend James Grayson of Israel Chapel in Spencer, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will follow at Earlsboro Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
