Betty Lovell Cathey, 94, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed from this life Sunday, June 16, 2019 at her home.
She was born August 31, 1924 to Robert and Alcie (Montgomery) Annanders in Macomb, Oklahoma.
Betty was raised in the Macomb/Tribbey area and attended Tribbey Public Schools.
She married F.M. “Shine” Cathey on August 2, 1941 in Macomb, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on April 6, 1969.
Betty worked for period of time at Harps, Roundhouse and Tinker Air Force Base as a Riveter, but mostly was a homemaker.
She was a longtime member of the Tecumseh Pentecostal Church of God and the women’s auxiliary. Betty enjoyed going to Canton Lake and fishing with her husband F.M., gardening and yardwork. She look forward to Friday nights spent going out with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, F.M. “Shine” Cathey; her parents, Robert and Alcie Annanders; daughter, Doris M. Arms; 2 grandchildren, Levi White and Jacob White; 3 sisters, Edna, Suzie and Lela; and 5 brothers, Andy, Carl, Roy, C.W. and Johnnie.
Those left to cherish her memory are 5 grand-daughters, Betty and Rickie White of Macomb, OK, Sheila Arms and Jennie Shomaker of McLoud, OK, Kathy Langley of Tecumseh, OK, LaDonna Pham of Tecumseh, OK and Diannah and Greg Levell of Broken Arrow, OK; 13 great-grandchildren; 24 great-great grandchildren; 1 great-great-great grandchild; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019 and continue through service time. Family gathering to greet friends and family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Tecumseh First Assembly of God with Pastor Don Jonker officiating. Burial will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Macomb under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
